Huckabee for President

The Christians either need to stand up or shut up when it comes to this next presidential election!
Huckabee is a man of his word, he walks the talk, why isn't the Christian community getting behind him and supporting him?
Is it because he doesn't have enough money? Or What? Is he not cheesy enough?

I think it is sad to see a supposedly Christian country not be willing to stand up for the Christian Values it was founded on. I believe the term may be "lukewarm". I'd rather be hot or cold, sink or swim. Didn't God have something to say about being lukewarm?

It wouldn't be so frustrating if every Christian I mention political candidates to didn't shrug their shoulders and mumble something about how no one is any good anyway, we should just vote for the lesser of the two evils.
Of course, we should all just jump behind the man with the most money and the cheesiest smile, or we should just wait until the usual Christian leaders like James Dobson do all the research for us and then wait for him to tell us who we should vote for and why. I think highly of Mr. Dobson, but isn't God the one we should rely on for leadership?
Or just ignore it all and show up to vote and cast your ignorant vote for the name with the "R" next to it.
Hey, may as well just stay at home and not even get involved, you know God wouldn't like us arguing about stuff like this. Don't rock the boat, smile and nod boys, just smile and nod!

I think the Christian community at large should get up off their stale, lazy, pew moldy butts and try standing up for what they say they believe in. Would it hurt if every "real" Christian who wasn't ashamed of their Chrisitanity would do their own research, decide what issues are relevant and most important to them, then sit down with the Bible and the history of the choice candidates and see who aligns with God's Holy Word. The same Holy Word that Christians are suppose to base their actions upon the principals found within. (there's a novel idea)
Oh, but the problem with that is it would cause "Christians" to actually do something and it would require them to have to read and, God forbid STUDY the Bible! That's just to damn much to ask isn't it? I'm sure your too busy volunteering for every church committe, and playing church, doing all that work for God that you don't have time to actually be a Christian! Mmmm. . . . .the irony.

I know there are those of you who are Christians who are just as angry as I am and you all are the ones I am counting on to take the time and get involve with this upcoming election.
  • Find a candidate you truly believe in , call them or email them. Let them know you support them and are willing to do what you can to promote their campaign.
  • Then support them. Ask what they need done. Money can't buy everything. I personally respond well to personal, genuine endorsements.
  • Encourage people to find out about the issues, recommend the candidates you personally endorse and tell them why. You and the candidate gain credibility when someone knows an issue is important to you and you found a candidate that aligns with your genuinely held beliefs.
  • Don't demand a response. Let them take in the information. You may never know the impact you have on someone else. We don't convict, the Holy Spirit does that.

Titus 1:15-16

15Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
16They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
